About this project

I wrote this 6-track EP over the summer of 2016 and it was recorded and mixed in just 3 days on Pete Townshend’s floating recording studio, a 100 year old Dutch barge called the Grand Cru. The launch took place at St Pancras Old Church on the 8th February 2017 to a sold out audience of 200 people. It was released on 3rd February 2017 and digitally distributed across Google Play, iTunes, Amazon Music and Spotify as well as physically released on CD.

What I did

I was responsible for designing and building the bespoke webpages for 'Nothing Of Nothing Much' (HTML, CSS, PHP) as part of the marketing and promotion of the EP. This included a page integrated into the albertman.com website and a bespoke 'electronic press kit' which was used to send to reviewers and radio stations as a preview prior to launch. I also wrote a press release surrounding the EP launch for use in this press kit. All webpages have a fully responsive design.

I designed the artwork for the single as well as all the posters, banners, flyers, CD sleeve layout and other promotional material for use online and for print as part of the marketing campaign for the EP launch and for use at the launch night at St Pancras Old Church (Photoshop, Illustrator).

I also created the official music video for the song 'Riding Shotgun' which included coming up with the concept, the filming, editing and all animation work. I also edited together the walkthrough video from the recording session and edited another video for the single, 'Diamond In The Rough' from the EP. There are also a couple of promotional videos which I created and edited to help promote the EP launch and also the launch night at St Pancras Old Church. All of these videos can be viewed in the embedded YouTube playlist.

Lyrics

Track 4: You Had Me At Hello

I didn’t need to know you played piano
I didn’t need to know you sang the blues
I didn’t need to know any of these things to fall for you
I didn’t need to know you'd been to Graceland
And bought yourself a pair of blue suede shoes
I didn’t need to know any of these things to fall for you

‘Cause you had me at hello
Now they play our song on the radio
Tomorrow comes tomorrow goes
But our love was always beautiful
Tell me where did the time go
Can’t we go back to that first hello

I didn’t need to know your favourite movie
And every song you liked to listen to
I didn’t need to know any of these things to fall for you
I didn’t need to know you’d always be there
And that you liked to quote Dr Seuss
I didn’t need to know any of these things to fall for you

‘Cause you had me at hello
Now they play our song on the radio
Tomorrow comes tomorrow goes
But our love was always beautiful
Tell me where did the time go
Can’t we go back to that first hello

Now It seems so long ago
