About this project

'Empire' was a 90-part radio show about the British Empire, broadcast on BBC Radio 4. The project involved the creation of a website used to supplement the show and give a detailed synopsis of each episode.

What I did

I worked closely with the design team and Interactive Editors within Radio 4 as an Information Architect and Client-side Developer on this project.

There was a wealth of content for the show which needed to be displayed online. A lot of work went into the page layouts, templates and automating when the content would become available online. I used extended server side includes to show the episode content based on time.

I also built an interactive Javascript quiz which was embedded on each of the episode pages. The technologies I worked with included HTML, CSS, Javascript, and XSSI.
