About this project

The BBC music festival coverage is extensive and always well received. All the content generated by the BBC during these different festivals (such as Glastonbury, Radio 1's Big Weekend and Reading & Leeds) is accessible via bespoke festival websites at bbc.co.uk. The project involved the creation of a standard customisable set of templates which could be used for this BBC coverage.

What I did

I was the Information Architect and Client-side Developer on this project and worked closely with the design team and Radio 1 Interactive to work on a scalable template solution for these websites.

I worked on a 'vanilla' modular template solution, based on the needs of Radio 1 Interactive, which could be customised from a layout perspective and re-skinned using a different CSS file for each festival site. I had to plan the wireframes and components before coding the pages.

The technologies I worked included HTML, CSS, Javascript, and XSSI.
